Native American Shields Rock Art Projects
1996
In the mid 1990s the North Dakota Museum of Art commissioned me to photograph images of Native American shields as they appear in rock art throughout the Western United States. I traveled from Montana to Arizona and New Mexico to make photographs, visiting sites selected by an archeologist as significant examples of these works. The project was exhibited at the museum in 2003.
